There is a sound of a whistle in the campus Choekhorling Middle Secondary School. (CMSS). The cries of desperation fade as teachers and principal activates all the Disaster Management Team.This is at the mass casualty management drill conducted at CMSS.
Here is the mock situation: an earthquake of high magnitude has hit Sarpang and the siren at 12.15 PM.More than 700 students and staff of CMSS took part in the drill today. The drill is to see how the school would manage when large causalities are reported at the campus because of a disaster.The recommendations rested on three overarching issues: facilitate safe evacuation, proper communications, and staff preparedness and capabilities.The school will conduct mock drills twice a year for disasters apart from earthquake.
